We want to make the talk more livelier, so colleague Vanessa we be joining me in a LIVE walk through the streets of Florence, arriving in the square where the Bargello is located.
The Bargello is worth learning about just for being one of Florence’s oldest and most historically significant buildings with a fascinating past. That it houses some of the greatest collections of Medieval and Renaissance statues in the world is an additional bonus.
The assemblage features masterpieces by Donatello, Verrocchio, Giambologna and – of course – Michelangelo, all of which you will discover through fascinating stories. We will highlight some of the main and lesser-known work of art found inside this unique museum, a true underappreciated treasure in Florence. Due to covid restrictions, the museum is closed. This will not detour us, though, and will show you the special artwork visually.
This is event is free of charge, however donations are happily accepted and encouraged.
The virtual presentation will last about 1 hour (45 minutes for the talk and 15 minutes for questions and answers).
I look forward to seeing you and discussing Renaissance art!
